Exmouth is a lovely seaside town at the mouth of the River Exe, enjoying a superb location with easy access to a sandy beach, the Exe Estuary and the beautiful East Devon countryside.
Exmouth Cycle Hire is situated in the centre of the town just off The Strand towards the end of Victoria Road. This excellent location is less than a five minute walk away from the rail station, bus station and long-stay car park, making it convenient for those travelling by public transport and by private vehicle alike.
We would always recommend booking but during less busy times we can often provide bikes to walk-in customers
We can cater for babies from 9 months (in a child seat) upwards. If you want to take it easy, we can rent you a good quality electric bike to help you along your way.
Whatever you like! For practical reasons, we recommend clothing you don’t mind getting dirty and sensible shoes or trainers.
We aim to have bottle holders fitted to all our bikes where possible. We recommend you always carry some water with you and have a large range of water bottles and hydration back packs available to purchase in our shop.
Every bike comes with all the required tools to mend a puncture whilst out on a ride. This prevents you having to cut short your ride having to wait for a member of staff to reach you . If you struggle at all, we are always on hand to talk you through the process over the phone.
If you have a problem with the bike call us straight away and if we can we will talk you through a road side repair. Failing that we will come to your rescue with tools and replacement parts or a new bike. Just make sure you have our phone number handy!
Prevention is better than cure. Please take note of these most `popular’ accidents.
1. Having a little too much to drink at lunchtime
2. Forgetting that UK bike brake setup is the opposite to many countries so pulling what you think might be the back brake is actually the front brake and could send you sailing over the bars! Use 60% rear and 40% front down hills.
3. Attempting stunts that you are either too old for or not equipped with the sufficient skill set to carry out safely!
4. Riding too fast, and misjudging rough terrain, tight bends, loose gravel, other users.
If the worst should happen call the emergency service making sure it is safe to do so. Follow their advice then when possible contact us, we will help you in anyway we can.
